Freshman Business Leadership Workshop Series

Your Future Starts Here…

This annual event is a leadership and professional development conference for first-year business students sponsored by Warrington Welcome and Deloitte. Typically, the event is held on one day in person but this year, due to COVID-19, the event has moved online and will be held over a two-week period. For the Freshman Business Leadership Workshops Series, first-year business students attend interactive workshops led by Heavener student organizations, programs, and leaders. This is an opportunity to attend different workshops hosted by organizations in Heavener and meet many first-year students!

Why attend?

  • Competency Development: You will be able to attend, at minimum, one workshop coaching in you in the development of one career-readiness competency. In turn, you’ll be better prepared for the internship search and standing out in the Warrington College of Business.
  • Networking: The workshops are facilitated by student leaders and are a way for you to professionally network with upperclassmen leaders.

When and where is the event?

Workshops are being held on October 5-8th and October 12-14th from 5-7pm and October 9th from 9am-12pm.

All workshops will be conducted via Zoom and are 30 minutes long. As a Warrington Welcome student, you are required to attend at least one workshop and actively participate. The event is open to all first-year students even if they have not taken Warrington Welcome.

Students who attend three or more workshops will be invited to attend a professional development session on Business Chemistry hosted by Deloitte on Friday, October 16th.

Register Now!

Navigate to the Warrington Welcome Council Eventbrite page to see a list of workshops and sign up for a workshop. Review the workshop topics and presenters to find a workshop that best fits your professional development needs or interests and schedule.

Workshop sign-ups are on a first-come, first-serve basis and spots are limited.

After you register, you will be sent the Zoom link for the workshop via email.

You will need to verify your attendance at the event by completing the GatorReady survey at the end of the workshop.
