MIB Student Spotlight: Miroslav Konderla

Miroslav Konderla (MIB ’26) is completing his graduate business degree this summer. He is originally from Slovakia and plans to attend the MBA program at Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic after graduation.

Q: Tell us about yourself.

Konderla: Hey, my name is Miroslav, and I come from a small village in Northern Slovakia. I graduated from a local high school in my hometown and then pursued my bachelor’s degree in integrated business at the University of Central Florida. For my master’s, I chose the MIB program at the University of Florida due to its incredible academic reputation, strong career fit, tight-knit student and alumni community and outstanding employment outcomes.

Q: What is the best thing about MIB and why did you join this program?

Konderla: My favorite experience in the MIB program was definitely the week-long consulting trip to Santiago, Chile, where I had the privilege to connect with my fellow peers, faculty and experienced industry professionals on a deeply personal level. This trip allowed us to form bonds and connections that a controlled academic environment would never be able to. Professionally, I learned the invaluable lesson that is paramount to conducting business across borders successfully, especially in the long term: it is done on the ground through real conversations, genuine collaboration, focus on long-term relationships, adaptability and mutual trust.

Q: What are your plans after graduation?

Konderla: My immediate plans post-graduation include moving to the Czech Republic later this summer and successfully beginning my MBA studies at Masaryk University in Brno.

Q: What is your advice to incoming MIB students?

Konderla: If you’re seriously passionate about conducting business internationally and looking to meaningfully expand your mind, set of skills, credentials and professional network, the MIB program at UF is the place to be. Then, the only thing left to do is to show up and keep showing up. Make sure not to overwhelm yourself initially and remember that all great stories begin with the bravery of taking the first step and trusting your journey. I guarantee it will be one you will be proud of.

Q: Tell us a cool fact about you.

Here’s something interesting about me: beyond being a proud Madridista, my heart belongs to Slovakia as well as nature all around the world. At 18, I checked skydiving off my bucket list, and I speak four languages (three fluently). Go Gators!
