Brian Miller was named the director of the Fisher School of Accounting, filling the role previously held by Gary McGill, who recently assumed the role of Warrington College of Business interim dean.

Miller has a proven track record of impact as an educator. He spent 17 years at the Indiana University Kelley School of Business before joining Warrington ahead of the 2025-26 year. He spent the year working with DBA, MBA and PhD students before his appointment to Fisher School director.

“I’m deeply honored to serve as the next director of the Fisher School of Accounting,” Miller said. “Fisher has a long tradition of excellence, and I’m excited for the opportunity to work alongside our faculty, staff, students and alumni to build on that foundation. I look forward to helping shape the school’s future while continuing to provide our students with an exceptional accounting education.”

Miller steps into the role after McGill’s 20-year tenure as director.

“We are lucky to have Brian on our faculty and in this role as the new director,” McGill said. “He is a world-class researcher and teacher. He is thoughtful, has great insights, and cares deeply about the success of our students, faculty, and programs. I believe the Fisher School is in excellent hands as we face the future.”

Before academia, Miller became a CPA while working in public accounting before transitioning to a business development role at Procter & Gamble, where he was part of the go-to-market team that launched new products like Swiffer and Febreze. He later moved to a finance manager position where he was responsible for a several billion dollar annual forecast.

Miller’s research has shaped conversations about corporate reporting, governance and financial markets. His work in the classroom has earned repeated recognition from MBA students and colleagues.
