
Xiang (Shawn) is a Ph.D. candidate in Information Systems. His research interest lies in three areas: algorithmic product recommendation systems, the economics of AI and Blockchain, and the digital economy. His research methodologies include machine learning and AI, digital experimentation, econometrics, and analytical modeling. He has received over $20,000 in grants for digital marketing research. Prior to joining the Ph.D. program, he obtained an M.S. in Management Science & Engineering from Renmin University of China and a B.S. in Engineering Management with Honors from Wuhan University. He received the Outstanding International Student Achievement Award in 2021 and the Outstanding Undergraduate Thesis Award in 2014.
