H. Keith Florig is Associate Research Scholar in the Department of Information Systems and Operations Management at the University of Florida. Dr. Florig’s research addresses problems in risk management and risk communication in social-technological systems. His research has been published in Science, Risk Analysis, and Journal of Risk Research, among other outlets. Dr. Florig teaches graduate courses in statistics, risk management, and crisis management. Before coming to UF in 2010, Dr. Florig served on the faculty of the Department of Engineering and Public Policy at Carnegie Mellon University. He is currently Adjunct Associate Professor there. Dr. Florig has served on committees of the National Academies of Science, the National Council on Radiation Protection, and the Society for Risk Analysis. He has twice testified before the U.S. Congress on risk management issues. Dr. Florig has extensive research and teaching experience in China. He has published in Chinese academic journals and taught graduate and executive courses in risk and crisis management at several Chinese universities.
