Michelle Najul (BSBA ’16)

Michelle is a Private Bank Analyst for Citigroup in New York. She interned at Citigroup in the summers of 2015 (Treasury and Trade Solutions Analyst) and 2016 (Private Banking Analyst).

Chad Rome (BSBA ’16)

Chad was appointed Marketing Company President of 778, U-Haul Company of Southern Alabama. He is responsible for the day-to-day operations of 11 corporate locations, stretching from Mobile, Ala., to Tallahassee. Additionally, he oversees management of 175 independent dealers, six Area Field Managers, his administrative team, and a fleet repair facility. Chad has spent the past 12 years working for U-Haul, and most recently served as a Field Relief Manager at 833, U-Haul Company of Gainesville.

Jen Thomas (MBA ‘16)

Jen enrolled in the Tiffany & Co. Academy for Excellence and Diversity in Leadership Program, an 18-month rotational program designed for high-potential, early- to mid-career professionals who want to build rewarding careers with Tiffany & Co. Prior to earning her UF MBA, Jen worked in various roles for The World, the largest private residential ship on the planet.

Lauren White (BSBA ‘16)

Lauren graduated in the fall and is now a Contracts & Grants Accountant at UF. Lauren says she’s, “Lucky to be a part of the Gator Nation! Go Gators!”

Brett Owens (BA ’10, MSM ’11, MBA ’14, JD ’14)

Brett has joined the Tampa office of Fisher Phillips, a national labor and employment law firm, as an Associate. Brett brings litigation and jury trial experience and will advise employers on a wide range of topics, including employment discrimination and wrongful termination. During Brett’s time at UF, he served as President of the Association of Law and Business, and Secretary of Florida Blue Key.

Devin Grief (BSAc '12, MAcc '13) & Carly Rothlein (BSBA '12)

Devin's and Carly's wedding was featured online on Oct. 6, 2016, in Brides Magazine (brides.com). The story illustrated all the detailed planning that was involved in making their wedding memorable. Devin is a Vice President at Montce Swim, a swimwear company with locations in South Florida and California, and Carly is the Owner of Luxe Cartel, an online retailer of designer swimwear, apparel and accessories. The couple resides in South Florida.

Dan Drotos (BSBA ’09, MBC ’11, MSRE ’12)

Dan recently achieved the SIOR office designation, awarded by the Society of Industrial and Office REALTORS®. To achieve the SIOR designation, Dan completed at least five years of creditable experience in the highly specialized field of office real estate, met stringent education requirements, and demonstrated professional ability, competency, ethical conduct, and personal integrity. He serves as a Vice President of Bosshardt Realty Services in Gainesville.

Michael Patrone (BSAc ’06, MAcc ’08)

Michael Patrone married Dr. Natalie Smith on Nov. 5, 2016, at the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx. Michael is a Senior Associate specializing in mergers and acquisitions at the New York law firm Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher. Natalie is a chief resident in anesthesiology at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan.

Joshua Plager (BSBA ’06)

Joshua recently joined the law firm Boyes, Farina & Matwiczyk in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. He practices in the areas of probate and trust litigation, trust and estate administration, guardianship law, fiduciary litigation, and estate planning.

Susan Arduengo (BABA ’05)

Susan was recently appointed as Co-President of the Orange County Chapter of Ellevate, a global professional women's network. Susan is an attorney at Friedman Stroffe & Gerard, P.C., based in Irvine, California. She focuses her practice on management-side labor and employment law with an emphasis on representing companies within the beauty industry.

Mark Kaplowitz (BABA ’02)

Mark Kaplowitz and Rachel Hershkowitz were married Nov. 5 at the Tappan Hill Mansion in Tarrytown, N.Y. Mark is a Vice President, Assistant General Counsel in the mortgage-banking-litigation division of JPMorgan Chase in Brooklyn, New York. Rachel is a special education teacher at Public School 83, the Luis Munoz Rivera School, in Manhattan.

Nikki Jordan (BSBA ’01)

Nikki was profiled in the Oct. 9, 2016, edition of the Winter Haven News Chief. The article described Nikki’s busy life balancing her family, including husband and fellow Business Gator, Alex (BABA ’00), and career as Winter Haven High School’s Cambridge Program Coordinator—where she oversees 17 courses, 13 teachers, and about 210 students. Winter Haven High School is the only school in Polk County to offer the innovative program, which was developed by the University of Cambridge in England.

Robert S. Stroud (BSBA ‘01)

Robert was appointed Treasurer of Forty Carrots Family Center, a local nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families in Sarasota and Manatee counties through educational programs for parents, children and professionals in the field. Robert is a Principal at the law firm Blalock Walters P.A., and is based in its Sarasota office. He is Board Certified by The Florida Bar as an expert in Health Law, and represents private and publicly traded companies and entrepreneurs in a full range of business and corporate matters.

Bob Jennings (MBA ’99)

Bob was named Chief Executive Officer of ClosingCorp, a leading provider of residential real estate closing cost data and technology for the mortgage and real estate services industries. He previously served as Executive Vice President of RealEC® Technologies, which provides a suite of Web-based technology solutions for those same industries. Bob is based at the company’s headquarters in San Diego.

Seth Diamond (BSBA ’96)

Seth was named a Partner at the law firm Sloto & Diamond (www.slotolaw.com, formerly Sloto & Associates) in Miami. Seth’s practice focuses in the areas of trust and estate litigation, probate and trust administration, guardianship administration and litigation, estate planning, and real estate. He’s been with the firm since October 2010. Seth resides in Pinecrest, Florida, with his wife, Jill, and sons, Jordan, Lucas, and Jake.

Tony Conant (MBA '95)

Tony was named Executive Vice President and Chief Executive Officer of the American Rental Association, the international nonprofit trade association for equipment rental businesses and manufacturers and suppliers of rental equipment. Prior to joining ARA, Tony was the Chief Operating Officer for the Institute for Supply Management in Phoenix. He is based in ARA's headquarters in Moline, Ill.

Kevin D. Rosen (BSBA ’92)

Kevin was named a Partner in the Miami office of Shutts & Bowen, where he is a member of the Financial Services Practice Group and the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Taskforce. He previously was Senior Regional Counsel, Department of Enforcement at the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority in Boca Raton.

Jon Albert (MBA ’89)

The Tampa Bay Lightning honored Jon as the fifth Lightning Community Hero of the 2016-17 season during the Lightning’s Nov. 3 game against the Boston Bruins. Jon’s non-profit organization, the Jack and Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation, received a $50,000 donation from the Lightning Foundation and the Lightning Community Heroes program.

Ben Andrews (BSBA ’85)

Ben has joined the law firm Pennington, P.A., as a Partner in its Tallahassee office. Ben is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and practices in the areas of professional malpractice defense, with particular emphasis on Agents and Brokers E&O claims, as well as general liability defense. He is also admitted to practice in Georgia.

Michael Hancock (BSBA ’83)

Mike was recently named President of the Carrollwood Bar Association for the second year in a row. Established in 2000, the mission of the Carrollwood Bar Association is to serve its members and the residents of the Carrollwood area by fostering respect for the law and advancing the competent and ethical practice of the legal profession. Mike founded Hancock Injury Attorneys in 1996, a personal injury law firm located in Tampa. He is rated, "AV-Preeminent" by Martindale-Hubbell.

Steve Weiss (BSBA ’80)

Steve was named President and Chief Operating Officer of Accelera Solutions, an industry leader in cloud, mobility, and virtualization software. He has more than 30 years of proven senior-level operations and acquisition management experience. Prior to joining Accelera Solutions, Steve served as the Executive Vice President for Government Business Operations at CACI International Inc.

C. Michael Powell (BS ’67)

Michael was named Teacher of the Year at the University of North Georgia’s Cottrell College of Business. He is an Associate Professor of Marketing, and teaches the courses Consumer Behavior, Marketing Research, Principles of Marketing, and Personal Selling. Michael has an MBA and a Ph.D. from the University of South Florida.
