Mathew is a Financial Project Analyst at The Home Depot in Atlanta. He is part of the company’s Business Intelligence team that focuses on producing timely analytics, sales forecasting, and innovative solutions for cross-functional partners. He previously worked as a Realtor at Bosshardt Realty Services in Gainesville as an undergraduate finance student.
Scott has joined Ball Janik LLP’s Orlando office as an Associate in its Construction and Litigation practice groups. With a background in construction management, Scott approaches his cases from a unique perspective. He combines his legal and technical knowledge of the construction industry to produce positive results for his clients.
William was named to South Florida Business Journal’s 2016 40 Under 40, which recognizes individuals under the age of 40 who have made a significant impact in their field of expertise, their community, and at their companies. William is a Manager of Special Servicing at Torchlight Investors, a New York-based investment management firm that operates an office in Miami.
Jeremy Bailys and Lindsey Marmorstein (BSPR ’11) were married July 3 at the Jacksonville Jewish Center. Jeremy is a Senior Associate at The Carlyle Group, a global alternative asset management firm. Lindsey is a Group Manager, Corporate Healthcare at Weber Shandwick, one of the world’s leading public relations firms. The couple resides in New York.
Leah was named Director of Finance for the Community Foundation of the Chattahoochee Valley in Columbus, Ga. In her role, she oversees all of the financial operations of the Community Foundation. She previously served as Director of SEC Reporting and Mergers & Acquisitions at Carmike Cinemas.
Erika was appointed to the Board of Directors of Turning Points, which provides, coordinates, and facilitates services to the homeless and those at risk of becoming homeless in Manatee County. Erika is a CPA in the audit department of Cavanaugh & Company in Sarasota. She also serves on the Executive Board of the Junior League of Manatee County.
George is Chairman of Environmental Pest Service, which was recently ranked as one of the 20 largest pest control companies in the U.S. by Pest Control Technology Magazine. George, a third-generation pest control operator, is Chairman of the Sarasota-based company, which has been in his family since 1886. Under his leadership, EPS has expanded into north Florida, Georgia and North Carolina, becoming one of the fastest-growing pest control companies in the country.
Alexander was honored by the Mortgage Bankers Association of Florida (MBAF) with its Brown L. Whatley Award, which recognizes the organization’s most outstanding member of the year. He is Vice President & Regional Sales Manager at Florida Community Bank (FCB), where he manages the mortgage loan officers on the east coast of Florida (Miami to Daytona), recruits and trains mortgage loan officers, and originates residential mortgage loans, among other duties. Alexander is based in FCB’s Pinecrest office.
Joseph created a $10 million endowment to enhance UF’s chemistry department. The endowment will forever provide funds for classroom, research, and student support. Joseph is a serial biotech entrepreneur whose life’s work is improving medical care. He is the founder of numerous health-related companies, among them Microlin Bio and Sydys Corp. to treat cancer, Ember Therapeutics for regenerative medicines, and Prolias Technologies for genetic cytology.
Bill recently earned certification as a solar PV (photovoltaic) installer from the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP)—the highest professional certification in the solar energy industry. Bill, the Founder and President of Brilliant Harvest, LLC, a solar contractor based in Sarasota, is currently one of only 43 NABCEP Certified PV Installers in Florida.
Mike was recently named Sarasota-Manatee market president at Bank of America. In his new role, Mike will work across Sarasota and Manatee counties to connect Bank of America’s business lines to deliver integrated financial services to individuals, families, and businesses.
Andrew joined EisnerAmper, one of the nation’s largest accounting firms, as a Managing Director of its Forensic, Litigation & Valuation Services practice. He has more than 30 years of experience providing forensic accounting and expert testimony on economic damages, valuation, and business issues in complex business litigation. Andrew will work from the firm’s Miami and Fort Lauderdale offices.
The boardroom at UF Health Jacksonville was renamed the W.A. “Mac” McGriff III Boardroom on June 14. Mac served as a volunteer board member and vice chair of University Medical Center Jacksonville. He was CEO of UF Health Jacksonville from 1996 to 1999, and has also served as chair of the UF Board of Trustees. Mac was instrumental in forming the relationship between University Medical Center and Shands HealthCare, helping build what is now UF Health Jacksonville.
