Coming Events

February is an exciting time for the College as it hosts numerous events for students to shine and alumni to enjoy. Here’s a look at three of our most prominent events this month:

Heavener International Case Competition (Feb. 15-20)

Students from the Heavener School of Business have traveled all over the world this past decade to compete in international case competitions.

Now, the world’s top business students will descend on The Gator Nation.

The Heavener School hosts the inaugural Heavener International Case Competition at Heavener Hall. Twenty teams from North America, Europe, Asia and the Oceana region (Australia/New Zealand) will participate.

The Heavener School’s track record in international case competitions has been exceptional. In 2014-15, Heavener students won three competitions (Australia, New Zealand, Thailand) and placed second in another (Netherlands). So far in 2015-16, the Heavener School has placed second twice (New Zealand, Thailand).

Gator100 (Feb. 18-19)

The College once again celebrates the University of Florida’s top entrepreneurs at the Gator100 Awards at the J. Wayne Reitz Union Grand Ballroom.

The Gator100 ranks the 100 fastest-growing, Gator-owned or Gator-led businesses each year. The event allows the UF community to celebrate and engage with these successful entrepreneurs and learn about their innovative ventures.

More than 700 guests attended last year’s inaugural event. Fifteen of UF’s 16 colleges were represented on the inaugural Gator100, which was led by SoloHealth, an Atlanta-based health wellness company founded by Warrington alumnus Bart Foster (BSBA ’97).

Bergstrom Center Trends & Strategies Conference (Feb. 25-26)

The College’s Kelley A. Bergstrom Center for Real Estate Studies brings together the state’s top real estate professionals to discuss the industry’s most pressing issues during the Trends & Strategies Conference at the Hyatt Regency Orlando.

Among the topics to be discussed is the climate of Florida real estate, the impact of Big Data on the industry, how Florida real estate will be affected by political and legislative shifts, and many others.

Additionally, James R. Heistand (BSBA ’74), President and Chief Executive Officer of Parkway Properties, will be inducted into the Bergstrom Center Real Estate Hall of Fame.
