Paul Cancel (BSBA ’15)

Paul is a Financial Representative for Fidelity Investments in Jacksonville. Paul says, “This school gave me all the tools I need to succeed and I could not be more thankful. Go Gators!”

Jared Spector (BSAc ’12, MAcc ’12)

Jared was profiled in the Daily Business Review for earning the top score on the Florida Bar Exam in July. Jared’s score was best among the 2,687 people who took the test, and he was invited to speak at the Florida Bar’s induction ceremony in October at the Florida Supreme Court. Jared is an Associate in Bilzin Sumberg’s Real Estate Group, and is based in the firm’s Miami office.

Kate Ferrer (BABA ’10)

Kate was promoted to Senior Manager, Marketing & Projects at the Northern Kentucky Tri-County Economic Development Corporation, a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the business climate in Northern Kentucky. She previously served as the organization’s Economic Development Manager. Kate and her husband reside in Erlanger, Kentucky.

Joseph Abramson (BSBA ’09)

Joseph Abramson and Debra Konstadt were married Nov. 7 at the Park Avenue Synagogue in Manhattan. Joseph is a Vice President at Morgan Stanley, and is also pursuing his MBA at New York University’s Stern School of Business. Debra is an Advertising Assistant for GQ Magazine. The couple resides in New York City.

Guilherme Costa (BA ’05, BABA ’05)

Guilherme was recently named General Counsel for the South Dakota Board of Regents. He most recently served as Deputy General Counsel for the University of Idaho where he advised university administrators on all areas of the law, and was the primary attorney assigned to offices that provided student-related services. Guilherme was also previously an Associate at Drinker, Biddle & Reath in Washington D.C.

Frank Lonegro (JD ’93, MBA ’04)

Frank was named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of CSX Corporation, a leading supplier of rail-based freight transportation in North America. He directs all financial aspects of the company’s business, including financial and economic analysis, strategic planning, enterprise risk management and insurance, as well as accounting, tax, treasury and investor relations activities. Frank and his family live in Jacksonville.

Kristopher Verra (BSAc ’01, MAcc ’02)

Kristopher is a member of the Shook, Hardy & Bacon’s Global Product Liability Group in Tampa. He represents companies involved in individual and complex tort and product liability matters in industries including chemical manufacturing, construction, and pharmaceutical and medical device. He received his J.D., summa cum laude, from Stetson University College of Law in 2006.

The Honorable Hunter Carroll (BSBA ’97, BA ’97, JD ’00)

Judge Hunter Carroll was recently appointed to the 12th Judicial Circuit Court by Governor Rick Scott. He previously practiced at the law firms Matthews Eastmoore, Carlton & Carroll and Carlton Fields. At the time of his appointment, Judge Carroll was the President of the Sarasota County Bar Association.

Charu Raheja (BSBA ’94)

Charu recently joined the board of Community Health Charities (CHC), the country’s largest organization that supports healthcare not-for-profit groups and promotes workplace wellness. CHC partners with private and public sector businesses to raise $60 million annually for health charities. Charu is the Co-Founder of the TriageLogic Group, an organization in Jacksonville that provides software and services in telehealth, and she is excited to work with CHC to provide affordable, 24/7 access to healthcare.

Ozgur Kutay (MBA ’91)

Ozgur has been with Citigroup for 21 years in a variety of roles. Currently, he is the Citi Country Officer and Managing Director for Citi in Kuwait. He is responsible for the management and governance aspects of the Citi franchise, including regulatory and client relationships covering all the business offerings related with Kuwait.

Brian Lohmann (BSAc ’88)

Brian was named Vice President of Finance, Chief Financial Officer and Assistant Secretary-Treasurer of the Sugar Cane Growers Cooperative of Florida. He joined the Cooperative in 2008 as Supervisor of the Accounting Department. Brian previously served as Director of Replenishment for Pioneer Growers Cooperative, and owned his own accounting firm for 16 years. Brian and his family live in Belle Glade, and his daughter, Lizzee, is a sophomore management major at Warrington.
