Daniel Drotos (BSBA '09, MBC '11, MSRE '12)

Dan was recently promoted to Vice President at Bosshardt Commercial & Land, a division of Bosshardt Realty Services. Dan is a dedicated Realtor who specializes in commercial and land transactions including sales and leasing. He also recently graduated from the 40th Class of Leadership Gainesville through the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce.

Michael Budwick (BSBA, ’88; JD ’91)

Michael, a Shareholder and Partner at the Miami law firm Meland, Russin & Budwick, has been recognized as a 2014 Florida Super Lawyer. Michael was honored as a Super Lawyer in the category of Bankruptcy/Business Litigation (2006-2014).

Margaret Cartier (BSBA ’66, MBA ’67)

Margaret, a former Partner at the Chicago-based accounting firm Altschuler, Melvoin and Glasser CPAs, has retired. Says Margaret: “It is great to be retired after 31 years in public accounting!”

Dr. Alan Cox (BSBA ’88)

Alan is a Hospitalist for Inpatient Consultants of Tennessee in Johnson City (home of Steve Spurrier). He retired this past year from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of service. Alan is married to Claudia Pascalau and plans on attending homecoming this year. Go Gators!!!

Randall C. Clement (BSBA ’78, JD ’81) and Duane D. Draper (BSBA ’89)

Randall and Duane, attorneys at Bryant Miller Olive, were both named to the 2014 edition of Florida Super Lawyers. Randall is the Managing Shareholder of the firm’s Orlando office and was recognized for his work in the Bonds and Government Finance practice area. Duane, who practices out of the firm’s Tampa office, co-chairs the firm’s Public Finance practice area and was also recognized for his work in the Bonds and Government Finance practice area.

John Tranter (BSBA ’78)

John was recently sworn in as Chairman of the Florida Bankers Association (FBA) for the 2014-15 association year. He is the Executive Vice President and Chief Banking Officer of CenterState Bank and has nearly 40 years of banking and community leadership experience in Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.

Lillian Mills (BSAc ’80, MAcc ’81)

Lillian was awarded the American Tax Association’s highest honor, the Ray M. Sommerfeld Outstanding Tax Educator Award. Lillian, the department chair of accounting at the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas, was recognized for her career contributions in the areas of tax-related teaching, research and service.

R. Neil Miller (BSBA ’97)

Neil was recently appointed Deputy Secretary of Finance for the Commonwealth of Virginia by Governor Terry McAuliffe. He most recently worked as Virginia Commonwealth University’s budget director. Prior to his time at VCU, Neil served as Deputy Secretary of Finance in the administration of Virginia Governor Bob McDonnell.

Monica L. Wilson (BSBA ’07, JD ’10)

Monica, an associate attorney in the Charlotte office of Bradley Arant Boult Cummings, was recognized by the Carolinas Chapter of the Associated Builders and Contractors (ABC) as its 2014 Individual Member of the Year. The award honors an ABC Carolinas member who has contributed an exceptional level of service to the chapter, which represents the construction industry in North and South Carolina.

Trey Lauderdale (MSE ’07)

Trey, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Voalte, has announced the launch of Voalte Labs, which will bring together leading engineers and researchers into a single team that will drive innovation across the company to support Voalte products and services. Voalte Labs will be led by Don Fletcher, Ph.D., Chief Scientist at Voalte and former Senior Engineering Manager at Google Voice.
