General Tips & Guidelines

Getting Started. Students can start taking minor coursework for any minor as early as their first semester. It's ideal to decide on a minor/certificate early in your college career to ensure enough time to finish all coursework before graduation.

Determine Your Eligibility. Minor application processes vary. Review the minor application steps below to begin. In general, students are not allowed to delay their graduation and take extra semesters to complete minor coursework.

Make it Official: Apply for Your Minor. Although students can start completing minor coursework as early as their first term, students must first earn 45 University of Florida credit hours before officially applying for any minor.
