Taipei is a large capital city nestled in a valley surrounded by mountains. It has a population of over 2 million and it is the business and cultural center of Taiwan. The seaside is less than one hour away in three different directions, making Taipei a center of international trade. Taiwan enjoys warm weather all year round, except for a few mountain areas where traces of snow can be found in the winter months. Bring an umbrella; March to May is the rainy season!
The predominant languages around school and in city are Taiwanese, Mandarin, and English. The official language of Taiwan is Mandarin (Chinese). English is the most popular foreign language for the Taiwanese and it is regular part of school education. The University offers a host of business classes taught in English every semester.
