Business Student Organizations

Alpha Iota Delta is the national honorary society of the Decision Sciences Institute. In order to be eligible for election to membership in Alpha Iota Delta, a student must have completed four decision sciences courses, be in at least the upper 20 percent of his/her class, and have ethical and moral ideals.

Alpha Kappa Psi is a national professional business fraternity that offers its members an opportunity to develop business and leadership skills and provides professional/career opportunities. Membership requirements are equivalent to the admission requirements for the Warrington College of Business Administration or the Fisher School of Accounting.

The University of Florida student chapter of the American Marketing Association is one of the largest student organizations on campus. AMA welcomes students of all majors and classifications.

The Association of Latino Professionals in Finance and Accounting (ALPFA) is the leading professional association dedicated to enhancing opportunities for Latinos in accounting, finance, and related professions. Membership is open to anyone who shares their values, mission, and principles. ALPFA creates opportunities, adds value, and helps its members build relationships with the community and its business partners while expanding Latino leadership in the global workforce.

The Association of Information Technology Professionals is the official organization of the Information Systems and Operations Management Graduate Program at the University of Florida. Although membership consists primarily of ISOM Masters students, we welcome all UF students who are interested in business and technology.

ASTRA (Ability, Service, Training, Responsibility, Achievement) is a service organization that is sponsored by the Warrington College of Business Administration and the Altrusa Club of Gainesville. Although our club is predominately women and business majors, anyone is welcome!

Beta Gamma Sigma is the national scholastic honor society in the field of business administration. To be eligible for membership a student must be ranked in the top seven percent of his/her junior class, or in the top 10 percent of his/her senior class and meet certain course residency requirements.

The Business Administration College Council acts as the governing body for all student organizations of the Warrington College of Business Administration at the University of Florida. We organize and sponsor student events, network with several top companies, act as the primary liaison between the students, faculty, and administration of the Warrington College of Business, and volunteer our time in the Gainesville community.

The Business Gator Association provides opportunities for students to enhance their knowledge of all industries in business. Each week, corporate speakers lead presentations on their company and explain available internship opportunities. Occasionally, our meetings will include fun activities geared toward developing professional development skills. The organization takes part in various community service projects, such as a Day of Difference and volunteering at St. Francis House. Other annual events include the BGA Business Convention, Faculty Luncheon, and Annual Golf Tournament.

The mission of Business Professionals of America is to contribute to the preparation of a world-class workforce through the advancement of leadership, citizenship, academic, and technological skills.

This organization competes in regional, state, and national levels in 75 different categories. The categories range from computer science, economics, management, marketing, finance, and more. Students can also compete as individuals or teams, depending on the events. We also focus on networking, gaining internships, and fund-raising.

At Business Professionals of America, we are committed to developing the best possible career and technical education organization for students in the United States. The measure of our success will be the perception that alumni of Business Professionals of America are highly competent and skilled workforce professionals who enable business and industry to maintain the economic vitality and high quality of life associated with our celebrated United States of America.

The CEI Ambassadors promote entrepreneurship in the university community by creating experiential learning opportunities that inspire innovation.

Delta Epsilon Chi is an international organization for college students who are preparing for careers in marketing, management, entrepreneurship, advertising, sales, financial services, e-commerce, and other business-related areas. Delta Sigma Pi is an international professional business fraternity organized to foster the study of business. Eligible students have been admitted to the College and have a GPA of 2.0 or higher, or students with sophomore or junior standing who have not been admitted to the College but intend to pursue a business or accounting degree and have a GPA of 2.7 or higher.

The Entrepreneurship and Technology Club was formed to promote the creation of new ventures at the University of Florida and Gainesville. Our programs are focused on wealth creation and idea generation. Programs include Idea Forums, Brown Bag Lunches, Workshops, Distinguished Speaker Series, and much, much more!!

Florida Women in Business is a student organization at the University of Florida whose members are a diverse group of women, studying in various disciplines, with the common goal of breaking the glass ceiling present in today's business world. At our bimonthly meetings we host speakers from various companies representing many different industries, presenting on topics ranging from effective interviewing techniques to self-defense. We also perform community service in association with Junior Achievement and the Arbor House of Gainesville.

The Hispanic Student Business Association promotes professional, community and campus awareness of Hispanic students who show promise of becoming future business leaders. We encourage any interested students to join the Hispanic Student Business Association and get involved with an exciting and innovative organization.

The International Business Society's mission is to promote interest in international affairs and business topics among the UF student body. IBS is a great way for International Students (UF students as well as visiting exchange students) to get involved and actively contribute to an organization on campus.

The Minority Business Society was organized to develop a network of college support systems for minority students. MBS sponsors and promotes activities, programs, and other opportunities for the enrichment of minority business students.

PHI BETA LAMBDA, Tau Pi Chapter, is the collegiate division of Future Business Leaders of America. We are not a greek organization, but an equal opportunity organization that seeks the interest of students who have a curiosity in business and/or business-related fields. We help students develop leadership and networking opportunities in a university setting as well as within the Gainesville community so that they will benefit as productive and efficient citizens. The PBL executive board, with its committee chairs, delegate work to all members so that everyone participates. We strive for each member to mature into a Future Business Leader of America.

The mission of the UF Real Estate Society is to actively create, support and enhance the academic experiences and pre-professional opportunities for students involved in the UF Program in Real Estate.

The Retail Society works to develop a strong networking system for those who are interested in seeking internships and careers in retailing. This is achieved through constant contact with knowledgeable, experienced students and via information sessions which allow recruiters to discourse on their companies and opportunities.

The SCG was established to educate students about opportunities that exist within the consulting industry, current events in consulting, and assisting in the development of consulting professionals. SCG provides its members with information on consulting careers, teaches them how to master the case interview, offers the opportunity to participate on a consulting team providing a real solution to a real business, and much more.

The Student Finance Group focuses on finance and provides networking opportunities for finance and other business majors. The organization hosts a speaker series that features business finance professionals, coordinates mentoring opportunities with graduate students, provides information and activities related to professional development, engages in community service, and offers students interested in finance the chance to take part in finance-related competitions.

The Student Investment Club (SIC) gives students at the University of Florida the chance to get hands on experience investing their money in the stock market with a group of their peers. SIC is open to students of any major and no prior investing experience is necessary. Students do not have to invest any money to be a member of the club.

The UES was formed to provide students interested in furthering their understanding of the field of economics a forum in which to gather and discuss national and world events. The UES is not limited only to those majoring in economics but is open to all students interested in the field.

The Society for Human Resources Management (UF-SHRM) is an international organization for students and professionals interested in the human resource field regardless of academic major. The Warrington Diplomats are a highly motivated and committed group of students who are selected through a competitive application process by the School of Business in the Warrington College of Business Administration (WCBA). To be considered for a Diplomat position, students must have attained junior or senior status with a minimum 3.0 UF GPA.

The mission of the Warrington Student Integrity Team is to encourage academic integrity, to foster honesty, courage and virtue, and to uphold the ethics of the Warrington College of Business Administration community within the academic and professional realms.
