Eligibility

Business and accounting majors with a 3.25 or better UF GPA are eligible to participate in the University Scholars Program. Students must meet eligibility requirements at the time of application.

Requirements

Students should plan to begin their research project in Summer 2009 and continue working on the project throughout the 2009-2010 academic year. University Scholars are required to enroll in a "Special Topics" course (GEB 4906) in the Summer C, Fall, and Spring semesters. Upon completion of the research project, students must write a properly formatted research paper and submit it to the UF Journal of Undergraduate Research (JUR) or to another scholarly journal for publication. Students are also required to give an oral presentation on their research at the University Scholars Symposium which is held in April.

Note: The required research paper for this program can also be used to fulfill college honors thesis requirements (see the following link for details).
