School of Business Preprofessional Courses
Required Preprofessional Courses
Transfer students must complete seven preprofessional business courses prior to their enrollment at UF (see table below). If your college or university does not use these exact course numbers, view the "Preprofessional Course Equivalencies" document to find the equivalent preprofessional course(s) offered by your institution.
Preprofessional Course Equivalencies| Course | Title | Credits |
|---|---|---|
| ECO 2013 | Principles of Macroeconomics | 3 |
| ECO 2023 | Principles of Microeconomics | 3 |
| CGS 2531 | Problem Solving Using Computers | 3 |
| STA 2023 | Introduction to Statistics | 3 |
| MAC 2233 | Survey of Calculus | 3 |
| ACG 2021C | Introduction to Financial Accounting | 4 |
| ACG 2071 | Introduction to Managerial Accounting | 3 |
Calculating the Preprofessional GPA
To be considered for admission, transfer applicants must earn a minimum 3.7 preprofessional GPA; that is, not a 3.7 in each course, but a 3.7 average for all seven courses. IMPORTANT: This GPA includes all attempts at preprofessional courses. Once a grade of "C" or higher is achieved in a preprofessional course, it cannot be retaken to improve the GPA. Our GPA calculator may help you figure your preprofessional GPA.
GPA CalculatorRecommendations on Taking Other Business Courses
When preparing for admission to our college, it is not to your advantage to take junior/senior-level business courses, as these courses will not count toward your UF business degree. If you complete an equivalent junior/senior-level business core or major course elsewhere (for example, Business Law or Principles of Management), the School of Business will require you to retake the course or take a higher-level course in the same subject area at UF. You will not earn additional college credit when repeating these courses.
