All incoming students are required to participate in an orientation at the beginning of their first term of enrollment in the program. The orientation features presentations on the program's curriculum and future employment opportunities. Students have the opportunity to meet faculty and their peers in the program. There is a $350 non-refundable fee which covers the cost of a meal, name tag and laptop backpack as well as professional development activities for the duration of the Master's program. International students pay an additional $300 for a mandatory international student professional communication preparatory course that takes place at the start of the program.
There is also an orientation sponsored by the Graduate School that students are encouraged to attend.
