Mr. Brown received a bachelor of science in computer science and a master of business administration, both from the University of North Florida. He worked in a variety of information technology positions before pursuing accounting. Since then, he has worked at a local accounting firm while completing his MBA. Current research interests include internal decision-making processes, the information content of financial accounting data, and the analysis of information flow.

Julie completed both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics Education from Boston University. She spent three years in the Audit practice of KPMG, LLP in the New York office within the Financial Services sector. Julie completed her CPA under Massachusetts State requirements. In her free time she enjoys playing tennis and traveling.

Michael received a bachelor's degree in accounting from the University of Florida / Fisher School of Accounting and a master's degree in accounting from the University of North Florida. He is a Certified Public Accountant in the State of Florida, and was previously employed by PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP and a regional accounting firm in Jacksonville, Florida. Michael is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, American Accounting Association, and the American Taxation Association. His research interests include the interaction of financial reporting and corporate taxation, with particular emphasis on sophisticated financial instruments. Other interests include corporate tax shelters, tax regulation and enforcement, and audit production. Michael is also a licensed pilot and holds a current instrument rating.

Originally from South Korea, Sukyoon joined the Accounting PhD program in the fall of 2006. Prior to joining the program, Sukyoon was at the Department of Statistics at the University of Florida from 2004 to 2006 as a graduate student and before that he earned a B.S in Statistics at UF. While at the graduate program in the Statistics Department, he worked as a statistical consultant in the Health Science Center at UF. His research interests are accounting information-stock price/returns relation, financial statement analysis, and financial econometrics.

Hadi started his college education at the University of Melbourne, in Australia, where he pursued a degree in Commerce. He later transferred to and graduated from the Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance. He subsequently completed a Master of Science in Entrepreneurship from the University of Florida where he was recognized as the 2008 Thomas S. Johnson Entrepreneurial Scholar. Hadi joined the PhD program in summer 2008. His primary research interests include auditing and corporate governance. In his spare time, he enjoys socializing and going on wild adventures.

Ping joined the accounting PhD program in 2008. Her primary research interests include accounting information and equity valuation, financial statement analysis and other related empirical capital market research topics. Before she came to the University of Florida, she earned her Master's degree in accounting from the Florida State University and prior to that she got her Bachelor of Science degree from Fudan University in China. For her leisure time, she likes to play volleyball.

Song graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from Lanzhou University in China. He came to the University of Florida in 2005 and earned two master's degrees in Materials Engineering and Management. Song joined the Accounting PhD program in Fall 2008. His research interests include intangible assets valuation and capital market analysis.

Ying joined the Accounting PhD program in the fall of 2009. She received her Bachelor of Science from Fudan University in China in 2007, and earned her master's degree in Electrical Engineering and master's degree in Management from UF in 2009. Her research interests include capital markets research in accounting, managerial and cost accounting, and comparative international accounting. She enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her family and friends.
