Topic: Size of a Midmarket Firm and Access to Specialized Knowledge Chris is the Partner in Charge and the Tax Practice leader for the two offices that comprise Grant Thornton's Central Florida practice (Tampa and Orlando). Chris has spent the last 20 years in both public accounting and private industry. Prior to joining Grant Thornton in 2003, Chris spent 11 years with another international accounting firm. His diversified experience includes working closely with high-growth, start-up and middle-market companies in a variety of industries, technology, communication, services, and manufacturing and distribution. This broad experience has allowed Chris to participate in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies in the international, federal, and state and local arenas.
Chris has significant tax planning experience in capital markets transactions related to acquisitions, mergers, and Initial Public offerings for numerous companies in various industries.

Amanda is a senior manager in the financial institutions practice within
Crowe Chizek. She graduated from Michigan State University, and started with the firm in 1998 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Amanda relocated to Florida in 2001 as part of a team to expand the financial institutions practice to the Florida market. She works on audits of financial institutions, including banks, thrifts, credit unions, and broker dealers. Her hobbies include spending time with her four children, traveling, and gardening.

Topic: Nature of Staff Assignments and the Specialization Decision Janet is a staff accountant in the audit practice of the Tampa Bay office of Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, L.L.P. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics in 1996 from the University of Florida, from which she later received Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Master of Accounting degrees.
Janet started with Cherry, Bekaert & Holland in January 2005 and has since worked on audits of several not-for-profit organizations, government entities, and homeowner associations. Janet's community involvement includes past service as treasurer of the Florida Track Club. Her hobbies include running, hiking, rowing, and reading.

Bio
Shaun T. Kelly has been the Vice Chairman of Tax Services for KPMG LLP since 2005. Prior to that, he was the Chairman of the Global Transaction Services practice. He also has served as Regional Coordinating Partner for KPMG's Transaction Services Practice in the Americas. A native of Belfast, Northern Ireland, he joined the KPMG firm in Dublin in 1980 and transferred to the U.S. firm's San Francisco office in 1984. He was admitted to the U.S. partnership in 1999. Mr. Kelly has been providing companies with divestiture, merger-and-acquisition, transaction structuring and due-diligence support since 1986.
Mr. Kelly earned a Bachelor of Commerce degree, First Class Honors, from University College, Dublin, Ireland.
Mr. Kelly is a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Ireland.

Karole is currently serving the firm as the Vice Chair of Industry and Knowledge for the Americas and is a member of the Americas Operations Group and works closely with the Americas Senior Vice Chair of Client Service and Accounts. Karole is leading the Americas implementation of the Global Industry sectors, where 10 of the 13 principal sectors are based in the Americas and she is providing leadership to the Center for Business Knowledge and currently working closely with John Harley on global execution of the industry and knowledge plans.
Prior to moving into this National role, Karole served as the Coordinating Partner for our services to Toronto Dominion Bank in Canada and has over 27 years experience serving various clients in the financial services industry. She has served as the Area Industry Leader for the Financial Services Industry (FSI) practice in the Southeastern U.S. and the Office Managing Partner for the Birmingham, Alabama Office.
Karole previously served as the leader of Ernst & Young's Fair Lending Practice in Regulatory Consulting (1992-1996) serving many of the largest financial institutions across the U.S. including Bank of America, Citibank, U.S. Bancorp, Key Bank, and Wachovia, to name a few. Additionally, Karole previously served as the Regional Partner for the Financial Services Industry for the South/West Region (1996-1998), working with nine of the firm's area practices to implement the firm's strategy for the Financial Services industry.
Karole served as the Coordinating and Audit Engagement Partner for the Regions Financial Corporation engagement, an $80 billion financial institution located in Birmingham, Alabama. During her career, Karole served in the audits of AmSouth Bancorporation, Bombardier Capital, Hibernia, ING, and Morgan Keegan among other asset management, banking, investment banking and insurance clients.
Karole also served on the Southeast Area Assurance and Advisory Business Services Operating Committee and has served on the Partner Advisory Council for Ernst & Young, North America, working closely with the E&Y Americas Executive Board.
Karole is active in various civic organizations including the Chamber of Commerce, United Way, the Boys Scouts of America, Junior League, and serves on the advisory committees of the Accounting Programs for four universities. Karole has provided training and educational programs throughout her career both internal to E&Y and in various professional and civic audiences throughout the U.S.
Karole and her husband, John, have three children. Alan recently graduated from The University of Alabama, Michael is attending Auburn University and Mitchell is an avid sportsminded fourteen year old at Mountain Brook Junior High School.

Mike Ryan serves as the head of the Southeast Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) team for Grant Thornton LLP. Mike has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, recaps, IPOs and other financing transactions. He has participated in numerous transactions for financial and strategic buyers in a number of industries, including manufacturing, distribution, consumer products and technology.
Mike's participation in these transactions includes leading financial due diligence investigations, providing accounting and structuring consulting with respect to recapitalizations, purchase accounting and Rule 144A offerings and analyzing and supporting purchase price adjustments. Mike also has experience with SEC securities offerings and private placements, including initial public offerings.
The TAS group is comprised of a dedicated group of professionals that provide an integrated service offering to financial and strategic buyers including due diligence (financial, tax, IT, compensation and benefits, etc.), and overall consulting related to transaction structuring.

Laura is an audit partner in the Tampa Bay Office of Cherry, Bekaert & Holland, L.L.P, She has over twenty-five years audit experience. Laura is also a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). Her experience as a CFE has included uncovering management fraud, and employee theft. She is a frequent lecturer in Florida and the Southwest on subjects including fraud related topics and auditing and accounting. Laura graduated from Florida State University with a BS in Accounting, and holds a Certified Public Accountant license in the State of Florida. She obtained her Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) designation in 1994. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). She served as a member of the Board of Governors of the FICPA from 1994-1996. She is a Past President of the FICPA West Coast Chapter, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners -Tampa Bay Chapter, the American Woman's Society of Certified Public Accountants -Tampa Bay Area Affiliate Chapter and the Rotary Club of Clearwater East. She currently serves as President of St. Petersburg College Alumni Association, Treasurer of the Association of CFE- Tampa Bay Chapter, Chairperson of the Finance Council of the St. Petersburg Diocese and is a member of the Advisory Board of the University of South Florida St. Petersburg, College of Business Program on Social Responsibility and Corporate Reporting.

Steve Skor is a manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers' International Tax Services group in Atlanta, GA. Since joining the firm in 2000 Steve has been involved in various projects addressing a wide variety of international tax issues for U.S. multinational corporations with outbound planning opportunities, as well as foreign multinationals with U.S. inbound planning opportunities. These projects include planning and modeling relating to foreign tax credit utilization, tax efficient repatriation of earnings, the acquisition and restructuring of foreign operations, the tax efficient financing of U.S. and foreign operations, international SFAS 109 analysis, and managing several large international compliance engagements for a variety of clients. For the past three years Steve has primarily worked on large-scale Global Structuring Alignment projects for various Fortune 500 companies.
Steve earned his Bachelor of Science in Accounting, as well as his Masters of Accounting (Taxation) at the University of Florida. He is a licensed CPA in the states of Georgia and Florida and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Steve is active in PricewaterhouseCoopers' various community service activities including, Junior Achievement; the United Way; Hands on Atlanta; the Salvation Army Angel Tree Project; and Relay for Life.

Mark Scott joined Kaufman, Rossin & Co. in October 2000. He is the Firm's specialist in international estate tax planning. Prior to joining the firm, he practiced law with an estate and trust boutique in Boca Raton.
Mark holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation and a Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law and he received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Florida.
Mark is a member of The Florida Bar and the Tax Section. He is also a member of the Boca Raton Estate Planning Council and the Dade County Bar Association. In addition, he volunteers for several community organizations, including as a professional advisor with the United Way and by providing pro bono legal representation through various entities. Mark's areas of concentration include complex estate tax planning, gift tax planning, and pension planning. Mark enjoys the sophisticated challenges offered in the nonresident alien tax planning and offshore trust planning regimes.
