The hotel where you will be staying is the Hilton University of Florida Conference Center Gainesville. It is situated on 1714 SW 34th Street, Gainesville, FL 32607, and the hotel phone number is 352-371-3600. The bookings have already been made, and your room will be paid for.
If you are arriving at the Gainesville Regional Airport, the easiest way to reach the hotel is to take a cab. The hotel is about 9 miles from the airport (directions), and the ride should be less than half an hour (driving directions).
If you are arriving at an airport outside Gainesville, there are two options. If you can make it to the dinner on Thursday, the restaurant is called Liquid Ginger, and it is situated in downtown Gainesville (Google Maps). And if you arrive too late for the dinner, you can drive straight to the hotel (Google Maps) - the restaurant and the bar in the hotel remain open till quite late, and you have other options for dinner on Archer Road (Google Maps), which is less than a mile south of the hotel.
The workshop will be held in the hotel itself, in the Azalea Room.
Breakfast, lunch and dinner: We will arrange for your transportation from and to the hotel on both Thursday and Friday for the dinners. Lunch on Friday will be at the hotel restaurant Albert's. There will be a mini breakfast bar at the hotel in the Break Pavilion, which is near the room (Azalea) where the presentations will be held. On Saturday, we will have a boxed-lunch outside the Azalea room at the hotel.
After the conference is over, if you are leaving from the Gainesville Regional Airport, you can easily hail a cab. Alternatively, we have been informed that the hotel shuttle can drop you off at the airport if you notify them in advance.
