Foundations Course in Utility Regulation in Africa

Participants studied regulatory imperatives in electricity, comparisons of regulatory mechanisms, price cap and revenue cap regulation, rate design and a case study in choosing the path of the electricity sector reform.
Sponsored by the University of Zambia, in partnership with the University of Cape Town, and in association with Energy Regulatory Board of Zambia (ERB), Regional Electricity Regulators Association (RERA), African Forum for Utility Regulators (AFUR) and the World Bank Institute (WBI).
In attendance were 34 utility professionals from 11 nations. Dr. Paul Sotkiewicz was invited to serve as a featured speaker at this course.
