2012 PURC Advanced International Practices Program - Telecom Policy and Regulation for Next Generation Networks

In attendance were 19 program participants from 9 different nations who developed the skills necessary to address today’s complex infrastructure issues. Using case studies and presentations by PURC faculty and infrastructure experts, the participants in this course examined the foundations, drivers, and policy priorities for next generation networks (NGN).
After completing this course, participants were able to:
- Identify and describe technologies for next generation networks (NGN)
- Define services, service delivery systems, and business models for NGN
- Identify policy and regulatory imperatives for NGN
- Develop strategies for transitions and overcoming barriers to new technology advances
- Formulate policy and regulatory frameworks that encourage customer-driven innovation
