Jeff Alfred
Program Assistant, International Business and MS-Management Programs
Bio
As Program Assistant, Jeffrey coordinates all aspects of application materials for MAIB and MSM applicants and prepares applications for the committee to review. Jeff is also responsible for all accounting and fiscal aspects in the department.
Jeff graduated from high school at Santa Fe High in Alachua, Florida where he starred as Kenickie in the school's debut of Grease. He then went on to star as the Tin Man in The Wizard of Oz. After high school, Jeff received a general A.A. degree from Santa Fe College and was certified as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) from there as well. He also attended the Florida State Fire College in Ocala, FL and worked as a firefighter/EMT for High Springs Fire Rescue and Alachua County Fire Rescue for a number of years. Prior to joining the MAIB/MSM team, Jeff worked for UF Foundation for 10 years.
In his free time, Jeff enjoys cooking, exercise, collecting toy fire trucks and great downtown Gainesville living. Jeff also travels to Walt Disney World numerous times per year and is the world's biggest fan!

Berna Mutlu
Associate Director, MS-Management Program
Bio
Dr. Berna Mutlu is the Associate Director of the MSM Program and the Director of the Postdoctoral Bridge Program at the University of Florida. Dr. Mutlu earned her PhD in Multilingual/Multicultural Education from the University of Florida in 2010, and she completed her Postdoctoral Education in International Business and Entrepreneurship at the University of Florida in 2011. Dr. Mutlu has five years of professional experience in technology entrepreneurship as the co-founder of a multimedia company in Gainesville, FL. She is currently teaching International Marketing classes in the College of Business at the University of Florida. In her past academic experiences, she spent several years as a university instructor in Turkey and obtained high recognitions within both Turkish and American higher education settings.
Dr. Mutlu’s research interests include the areas of economic and political environment in emerging markets and how economic and political factors influence entrepreneurial activity. Her current research focus involves issues of international management, international marketing, female entrepreneurship, global entrepreneurship, and entrepreneurial activities in the Middle East.
Jane McNulty
Associate Director, MS-Management Program
Bio
As the Associate Director, Jane has been working with the MSM program since 2005. She is the primary advisor for all MSM's and is responsible for the MSM program. She sits on the MSM admissions committee. Jane was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She attended Auburn University and graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education. After graduation, she went to work for Burdines Department Stores but soon thereafter was hired by Eastern Air Lines as a Flight Attendant and had many an "adventure" over the next 6 years. Tiring of being "on call" she was hired to go back to work at her high school Alma Mater.
As the Career Specialist at Miami Coral Park Senior High she worked as a liaison between the school and the business community as well as to educate students on employability skills and career planning and guidance. She organized annual Career/College Fair events, school-wide Guest Speaker days and one year put on an Environmental Fair that helped earn the school, faculty and staff county-wide recognition along with a significant monetary award. For years, she coached cheerleading and took her squad on to win a National Championship title in 1996. She was involved in numerous extra-curricular activities such as the Environmental Club, the Amnesty International club, Pep Club, a Co-Senior class sponsor and she took care of the school mascot - Ramsey, the Ram. In addition, she was a member of the SACS committee, a member of the school's Crisis Team and voted to be the lead union steward.
She was voted the "Outstanding Career Specialist" in the county, voted "Outstanding Steward" in her region and she was elected President of the Career Specialist Association more than once. And during all of this, she went on to earn her Master's degree at Florida International University in Adult Education in the Human Resource Development program with a strong emphasis on Guidance and Counseling.
After almost twenty years in the Miami Dade County Public School system, Jane left her position and moved herself and her mother to Gainesville to be close to her sister and brother-in-law, the real Gators of the family, and came to work at The University of Florida. In the little spare time she has, she spends time with family and takes her dog to various activities and classes since dogs are far superior to other species - sometimes even humans!

Ana Portocarrero
Director, MA-International Business and MS-Management Programs
Bio
As the new Director of the MAIB and MSM programs, Ana will assume oversight and responsibility for all MAIB and MSM operations. Ana is on the MAIB admissions committee and manages the Final Project. She is also the primary contact and advisor for incoming graduate exchange students from our partner schools.
Ana earned her B.A. in Political Science (2001) and M.A. in International Business (2007) from the University of Florida. Prior to joining the MAIB/MSM team in 2007, Ana worked at the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and University of Florida International Center.
As an undergraduate student, Ana studied abroad in Florence, Italy and traveled throughout Europe. She loves traveling and learning about different cultures. Outside of work, Ana enjoys spending time with friends & family, running and finding ways to lead a more sustainable lifestyle.

Hannah Morris
Associate Director, External Relations
Bio
As the Associate Director of External Relations, Hannah Morris spends her time recruiting, meeting new students, and catching up with alumni. An MAIB alumna, Hannah worked with the School of Business for a year before joining the MAIB/MSM department in the Hough Graduate School of Business. After two years with the MAIB program, her favorite parts of the job are meeting exchange students, attending the Budapest study tour, and planning alumni events.
Growing up an Army brat, Hannah attended Baby Gator Nursery School before moving to over nine states. Thankfully, weather and the Gators brought her back to the University of Florida where she earned a bachelor's degree in Marketing and a Master of Arts in International Business. Hannah loves to tailgate in her free time and enjoys Gator Football road trips with her husband and friends. She is especially fond of traveling, particularly internationally, and loves learning about other cultures (and eating their food). As a student she studied abroad for a semester in both Rouen, France and Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Her favorite parts about studying abroad were spending weekends in Zanzibar and visiting Victoria Falls on a dare. Her lifelong goal is to become a true "Global Gator" by visiting half of the countries in the world and just added one more at the World Cup in South Africa.
